The Tamil Nadu government has announced the closure of all schools and colleges in several districts as Cyclonic Storm Ditwah approaches. Schools have been closed in Tiruchi, Thanjavur, Ariyalur, Perambalur and Pudukottai districts.

Schools CLOSED, exam POSTPONED in several districts of Tamil Nadu as Cyclonic Storm Ditwah nears

Cyclonic Storm Ditwah: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that the Cyclonic Storm Ditwah is moving towards Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and southern Andhra Pradesh coast. The cyclonic storm is expected to make landfall in Tamil Nadu within 24 hours. Ditwah on Friday hit Sri Lanka’s eastern coast and killed 80 people with several still missing in the island nation. Ahead of the landfall, on account of the heavy rainfall forecast by the IMD, the Tamil Nadu government has announced the closure of all schools in several districts, including – Tiruchi, Thanjavur, Ariyalur, Perambalur and Pudukottai districts.
