FREE Electricity: One of the schemes of the Central Government is getting pretty popular among the common people, emerging as a major relief package for the common people. We are talking about the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme under which users will receive major subsidies for installing rooftop solar systems. They will also be provided 150 units of electricity every month. The PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme has officially been launched in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district. Here the district administration is planning to set up solar plants in as many as 20,000 homes, aiming to reduce electricity bills and make electricity more affordable for people.
FREE Electricity: Government Providing Big Incentive For Electricity Savings
People of Gonda district are liking the central government’s scheme and the process of installing solar plants is progressing rapidly. Officials stated that each family is entitled to receive 150 units of electricity for free after the installation of the solar plants under PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. Beneficiaries have stated that the scheme has significant impact on their household budgets.
The biggest advantage of the scheme is if a family generate surplus electricity they can sent it to the grid which will also improve the balance of energy production and supply. This initiative is providing a strong foundation for environmental protection.
FREE Electricity: Government Also Provides A Subsidy
The Central Government is also providing heavy subsidies to encourage more people to adopt solar energy. Under the scheme, the government is providing Rs 45,000 for a 1KW plant. Rs 90,000 for a 2 kW plant, up to Rs 1,08,000 for systems ranging between 3 to 10 kW. Notably, people will also have to contribute some amount. They have to contribute Rs 65,000 for a 1 KW solar system, Rs 1,30,000 for a 2 kW system, and Rs 60,000 per kilowatt for 3 to 10 kW systems.

It is to be noted that adopting solar energy will boost self-reliance even in rural areas. Reduced dependence on traditional electricity also provides additional savings benefits in the long run.

- The application procedure is user-friendly.
- Eligible beneficiaries can submit their applications online.
- Applicants are required to provide basic details like – Aadhaar card, electricity connection number, home address, bank account details.
- Once the application is approved by the concerned department, a team visits the house for inspection.
- After the property meets all required standards, the installation of the solar plant is carried out.
