Before the end of campaigning for the first phase of voting in the Bihar Assembly elections, Tejashwi made a big promise for farmers, policemen, and women.
Election campaigning for the first phase of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections will end at 5 pm on Tuesday. Meanwhile, no party is leaving any stone unturned to woo the voters. Rashtriya Janata Dal’s (RJD) Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday announced that they will provide the entire annual financial aid of Rs 30,000 to women in January next year if they are voted to power in Bihar.
The announcement, which came two days ahead of the first phase of voting in the state, was made in a bid to counter the ruling NDA’s ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana’, as part of which Rs 10,000 has already been transferred into the accounts of over 1 crore women to start their own businesses.
“I have been to many places and interacted with women. All the mothers and sisters in Bihar are excited about the ‘Mai Bahin Maan Yojana’. People say that this scheme will provide them with economic justice,” he said.
Another major announcement
Tejashwi Yadav has also said that if a Grand Alliance government is formed, one deputy chief minister each will be appointed from the backward and most backward castes. If Tejashwi Yadav is to be believed, if the Grand Alliance government comes to power, Bihar will see four deputy chief ministers this time.
Tejashwi Yadav said, “The first phase of campaigning will end today. This time, the public has made up its mind to oust the current government. All voters, from women to the youth, are excited. If our government is formed, on January 14th, the day of Makar Sankranti, our government will deposit Rs. 30,000 for a full year into women’s accounts under the Mai Behan Samman Yojana.”
Police and government staff will be transferred to districts next to their homes: Tejashwi
Tejashwi Yadav further stated, “We will transfer police and other government employees within 70 kilometers of their home districts so they don’t face unnecessary stress on duty.” Clearly, Tejashwi Yadav has made his biggest election bet.
‘Free electricity to farmers’
Tejashwi Yadav didn’t stop there. He further said, “We have decided that if we come to power, we will give farmers three hundred rupees in addition to the MSP for paddy. We will also give them a four hundred rupee bonus on top of the MSP for wheat. We will provide farmers with free electricity for farming. Currently, the Bihar government charges farmers 55 paise per unit for electricity. If our government is formed, we will also consider giving PACS presidents the status of honorable.”
