New Delhi: In a big development from the quick commerce industry, Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal has resigned from his position as the group CEO of Eternal. According to the regulatory filing of the company, Blinkit’s Albinder Dhindsa will be succeeding him with effect from February 1, 2026 Here are all the details you need to know about why the Zomato founder has resigned from his position as Eternal CEO and most importantly, who will replace him at that position.

“Of late, I have found myself drawn to a set of new ideas that involve higher-risk exploration and experimentation. These are the kinds of ideas that are better pursued outside a public company like Eternal,” Goyal said in a letter to shareholders.

What will Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal do now?
Following his resignation as the group CEO if Eternal, Goyal will take charge as the Vice Chairman & Director on the Board after shareholders give approval.
In a letter addressed to the shareholders, Goyal said he has recently been drawn towards new ideas that involve higher levels of risk, experimentation and exploration.

“Today, I am going to step away from the Group CEO role, and subject to shareholders’ approval, will remain on the board of directors as Vice Chairman…Albinder Dhindsa (Albi) will be Eternal’s new Group CEO,” Goyal said in a letter to shareholders.

Who will replace Deepinder Goyal as Eternal group CEO?
Albinder Dhindsa, who is currently a senior executive within the group, will take over as Eternal’s new group CEO after Deepinder Goyal’s resignation. Albinder is known for founding Grofers which later became Bliinkit. Notably, Albinder worked as the Head of International Expansion at Zomato.
