Punjab Kings’ leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has played only one match in IPL 2025 since its resumption following a week-long suspension due to a finger injury. However, a big update has emerged regarding the Haryana-born cricketer’s availability for the decisive Qualifier 2 clash against the Mumbai Indians on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
According to The Times of India, Chahal was seen bowling in the nets with some protection on his right arm and participated in some fielding drills as well. Hence, Punjab Kings are optimistic about his availability for the fixture on Sunday as they look to progress to their second final in IPL history.
Chahal, one of the most expensive players in the IPL 2025 auction, bagged ₹18 crore from the Punjab Kings. Although the 34-year-old struggled in the first few matches, he delivered a match-winning performance against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), helping Punjab defend a paltry 111. Furthermore, the wrist-spinner claimed a hat-trick against the Chennai Super Kings. So far, he has snared 14 wickets in 12 matches at 25.28.
