The Government e-Marketplace (GeM) and MVIRDC World Trade Centre Mumbai (WTC Mumbai) have entered into a memorandum of understanding to strengthen domestic and international cooperation in public procurement. The partnership seeks to enhance GeM’s global outreach while promoting structured knowledge exchange and inclusive participation. A key focus will be on empowering MSMEs, start-ups, women entrepreneurs and underrepresented suppliers through targeted capacity-building and outreach initiatives. Signed by Dr Vijay Kalantri, Chairman, WTC Mumbai, and Satya Narayan Meena, Additional CEO and CFO, GeM, the MoU lays the foundation for joint programmes, including global procurement dialogues, supplier development initiatives and research on emerging areas such as artificial intelligence in procurement, sustainability and green practices.
