World’s Longest Yagna Begins

Dhar (Madhya Pradesh): The longest Akhand Shriyantra Mahalakshmi Mahayagna began on Sunday at Shri Laxminarayan Hospital in Dussehra Ground. This yagna would run for 216 hours and would be recorded in Golden Book of World Records.

It is held in memory of late social worker and astrologer Raju Maharaj. His son, Tanmay Maharaj guides Narayan family who had been organising the event for 24 years to promote peace and harmony.

Khandwa As Chaitra Navratri begins on Sunday, devotees prepare to celebrate with great enthusiasm. Ancient goddess Tulja Bhawani temple in Khandwa district is the main attraction. The temple is linked to Ramayana period, where Maa Tulja Bhawani’s shringar is done in three forms during the day: childhood in morning, youth in afternoon and old age in evening.

The temple houses a self-manifested idol of Maa Bhavani, depicted with eight arms while defeating demon Mahishasura. It is said that Lord Ram worshipped her here during his exile in Treta Yuga.

Goddess Tulja Bhawani is also significant to historical figures like Chhatrapati Shivaji, who regarded her as his family deity. The temple features a stunning silver decor, including a large lamp that is lit during the festival. During nine days of Navratri, special decorations and prayers are held with devotees visiting from near and far. The local belief is that Goddess Tulja Bhavani fulfills wishes of all who pray to her, making this temple a cherished pilgrimage site.
