Where Winds Meet is expanding its global reach once again. After a strong worldwide launch on PlayStation 5, Steam, and Epic Games in mid-November, Everstone Studio has confirmed that the iOS and Android versions will release in the West on December 12. This will complete the game’s cross-platform ecosystem, with full cross-play and shared progression across console, PC, and mobile.
The mobile versions are not new. They launched earlier this year in China, following the regional PC release in late 2024. But this is the first time Western players will get the full mobile experience. With this move, Everstone is placing Where Winds Meet directly in the hands of millions of smartphone users who prefer on-the-go RPGs or do not own a high-end PC or console.
This is an important moment for the game, especially because its global launch has already created surprising momentum. It crossed seven million pre-registrations even before launch. It touched two million players on day one. It hit nine million players within two weeks. It has also maintained a Very Positive rating on Steam, with over 88 percent positive reviews. These numbers matter because they are not from a title with aggressive gacha. There is no character or weapon pull system, and monetisation is limited to cosmetics. Yet, the game still climbed into Steam’s top ten best-selling list, which is rare for a free-to-play RPG.
The mobile launch could push its growth even further. China’s mobile version has already shown strong engagement, and the West usually sees higher spending on open-world RPGs. If Everstone manages to keep updates consistent across all platforms, this release might turn Where Winds Meet into one of the most successful cross-play Wuxia RPGs of this decade.
The game offers familiar open-world comforts with the fantasy of classic Wuxia storytelling. Players explore China’s Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, a time full of shifting power and fragile alliances. The world is large, with over 20 regions and thousands of points of interest. It is also reactive. Weather, time, and player choices shape how people respond and how stories unfold. You can choose to be a hero or a law-breaker, and the world will reflect those decisions with reputation changes, bounties, chases, and even jail time.
Combat is one of the game’s highlights. It uses traditional Wuxia movement, classic martial weapons like swords and spears, and magical styles like Taichi. The mix of grounded action and fantastical skills feels familiar for players who enjoyed games like Black Myth Wukong, Naraka Bladepoint, or Genshin Impact’s exploration but wanted a more grounded martial-arts flavour. Where Winds Meet stands somewhere between a story-driven RPG and a social MMORPG, with over 150 hours of solo content and optional four-player co-op. Guild wars, multiplayer dungeons, and large-scale raids add more depth for long-term players.
The arrival of mobile support now makes this a full ecosystem game. You can begin on a PS5, continue your progress on a PC, and finish quests on your phone during a commute. For a Wuxia RPG with a large world and heavy story content, that level of flexibility may attract many new players who prefer gaming without platform restrictions.
