Samsung has officially announced the rollout of One UI 7, starting April 7, bringing a fresh design and AI-driven features to Galaxy devices. The update will first arrive on the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, and Galaxy Z Flip6, followed by more Galaxy smartphones and tablets in the coming weeks.
One UI 7 introduces a cleaner and more streamlined design, making it easier for users to customize their devices. The home screen, lock screen, and widgets have been redesigned for a more cohesive experience.
Samsung has also introduced Now Bar, a feature that provides real-time updates on the lock screen. For example, users can check their workout stats or see what song is playing in their Galaxy Buds without unlocking the phone.
Samsung is making AI a core part of One UI 7, adding features that improve productivity and creativity.
- AI Select: Allows users to swipe the Edge Panel and save videos as GIFs instantly.
- Writing Assist: Helps format and summarize text effortlessly.
- Drawing Assist: Lets users mix text prompts, sketches, and images to create new designs.
- Audio Eraser: Removes unwanted background noise from videos with a single tap.
One UI 7 also enhances Google Gemini integration. Users can simply long-press the side button and give voice commands like “Find Italian, pet-friendly restaurants with outdoor seating nearby.” Gemini will instantly provide recommendations.
Additionally, Samsung is improving natural language search within Settings. Instead of navigating through menus, users can type phrases like “My eyes are feeling tired”, and the system will suggest options like adjusting brightness or turning on Eye Comfort Shield.
