New Delhi: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has urged drivers to link their driving licenses with Aadhaar. The government has also sent SMS notifications, requesting them to complete the process promptly. For this, the drivers are advised to use parivahan.gov.in. The purpose of this is to ensure that people can continue to avail transport-related services without any disruption.

According to this advisory, it will be mandatory to link registered vehicles to a mobile number and authenticate them using the Aadhaar number. How to Update Mobile Number for Your Vehicle
For the convenience of the drivers, we have mentioned the steps via which they can update the Mobile number for the vehicle:
- To update your mobile number, you need to visit parivahan.gov.in. After that:
- Click on the Update Mobile Number via Aadhaar option.
- You will be asked to provide vehicle or driving license details, including information like the registration number, date of birth, and chassis number.
- Then, you can update your phone number by completing OTP verification via your Aadhaar number.
- This way, your Aadhaar and phone number will be updated with your vehicle.
How to Update Your Mobile Number for Driving License
- Visit the government portal parivahan.gov.in and scan the Sarathi QR code.
- Provide details related to your driving license. It is important to provide this information carefully and accurately.
- Enter your date of birth, the name of your state, and the captcha code.
- Click on the Submit button shown below to update your mobile number for your driving license.
- In this way, your phone number and Aadhaar will be updated along with your driving license.
It is important to note that this government portal provides two QR codes named ‘Vehicle’ and ‘Saarthi’, through which this process can be carried out. Additionally, it has now become mandatory to complete Aadhaar authentication to use any service related to transport or driving licenses.
