Addressing the year-end press conference, Pakistan Army spokesman Lt Gen Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry alleged that India committed 25 violations of the Line of Control (LoC), also also carried out several ‘false flag operations’ during the past year.

‘False flag’ operations
The Pakistan Army spokesman alleged that India committed 25 LoC violations and also carried out several ‘false flag operations’.
A false flag operation is defined as a military action or event that is designed to be carried out in a manner to appear as if it was carried out by someone else. The term was coined in the 16th century when a pirate or privateer ship would fly flag of a neutral or enemy country to hide its identity, and used this naval tactic to deceive other ships into allowing them to get close before attacking.
In today’s military terminology, a false flag refers military action taken by one side, usually against their own people, so that the blame falls on the enemy side.
General Chaudhry claimed that such operations were always announced through fake social media accounts linked with RAW (Research and Analysis Wing), India’s foreign intelligence agency, a threatened to deliver a “decisive response. “The Pakistan Army possesses the capability to deliver a decisive response to any Indian hostility,” he said.
Accusing the Indian state of committing atrocities in Jammu and Kashmir, the Pakistan Army spokesman alleged that “Indian are using brutal tactics to suppress movements for independence”.
He also accused the Indian government of targeting minorities, including Sikhs, both within its borders and abroad, in a veiled reference to charges leveled against India by Canada and the United States, for allegedly targeting Khalistani separatists in these countries.
‘Afghan Taliban patronizing TTP militants’
Meanwhile, addressing the current war-like scenario between the Pakistan Army and Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) aka Pakistani Taliban militants, the General accused the ruling Afghan Taliban regime of patronising TTP militants, and urged Afghan authorities to tackle the issue by denying the terrorists the use of their soil.
“The Afghan soil is being used by TTP terrorists. The perpetrators of acts of terror in Pakistan go to the hideouts of terrorists in Afghanistan,” he alleged. Chaudhry said that a one-document regime has been implemented for those crossing from Afghanistan and illegal border crossing has decreased.
He said the action against illegal Afghans has been going on and so far 8,15,000 of them had been expelled since September 2023, and added that talks were being held with Afghanistan bilaterally as well as through “international friends”.
The spokesman also blamed jailed former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan for latest wave of militancy, saying “we are paying the price for the policy of talks with rebels and resettlement.”
Pak forces killed highest number of terrorists in 5 years
Chaudhry noted that the Pakistani armed forces are battling insurgency mostly in the Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces, as said that the security forces killed at least 925 terrorists in 2024 and lost 383 of its own men in nearly 60,000 operations.
The Army officer said the number of terrorists killed by the Pakistan’s security forces in 2024 was the highest in the last five years, and about 170 daily operations are being conducted that have helped to foil several terrorist attempts.
A huge cache of arms and weapons were also recovered in these operations, he said, adding that 73 “high-value targets” were also killed, including 27 Afghan nationals, while another 14 high-value terrorists surrendered to the authorities.
