Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan remains defiant, refuses to apologise for his shocking statement on Operation Sindoor: ‘We were completely defeated on…’

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan’s statement has created a storm in political circles when he raised serious questions about the bravery of the Indian Army and Air Force. During an event in Pune, Chavan claimed that India was completely defeated on the very first day of Operation Sindoor. He even said that the Indian Air Force did not even fly its aircraft due to fear of Pakistan.

Chavan said, “On the first day (of Operation Sindoor) we were completely defeated. In the half-hour aerial engagement that took place on the 7th, we were fully defeated, whether people accept it or not. Indian aircraft were shot down. The Air Force was completely grounded, and not a single aircraft flew. If any aircraft had taken off from Gwalior, Bathinda, or Sirsa, there was a high probability of being shot down by Pakistan, which is why the Air Force was fully grounded.”

What did Chavan say?

Speaking in Pune, Prithviraj Chavan referred to Operation Sindoor. He said, “Whether people believe it or not, we were completely defeated on the very first day. We were defeated in the half-hour air battle that took place on the 7th.” Chavan claimed that Indian aircraft were shot down. Following this, the Air Force was completely grounded, not a single aircraft flew. He further stated that if any aircraft took off from Gwalior, Bathinda, or Sirsa, there was a strong possibility that Pakistan would shoot it down. This was why the Air Force was grounded. It is shocking for a former Chief Minister to boast so highly of the enemy nation’s strength and declare his own army defeated.
