In a major development, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday resigned from his position, citing medical concerns. In an open letter to President Droupadi Murmu, he stated that he is following medical advice and resigning with immediate effect in accordance with Article 67(a) of the Constitution of India. I am deeply thankful for the invaluable experiences and insights I have gained as Vice President in our great democracy,” Dhankar wrote in the open letter.

In the letter, he expressed fulfilment in having played a role in India’s exceptional economic growth and historic development. As he steps down, Dhankhar expressed pride in Bharat’s rising global stature, reaffirming his strong belief in the nation’s bright future.
