A disturbing incident unfolded in Rajasthan’s Udaipur where a French tourist was allegedly raped after attending a party. The incident reportedly occurred on Monday evening when the victim had been at a party at a local cafe where she met the accused, identified as Siddharth. The accused convinced her to come to his rented apartment in Sukher, claiming he would show her local scenic spots. Once there, he allegedly raped her.
Following the assault, the woman admitted herself to a private hospital and is now in stable condition, receiving medical attention.
Rajasthan Police have confirmed that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
Purna Singh Rajpurohit, the SHO of Badgaon Police Station, confirmed that an FIR has been filed based on the woman’s complaint. The accused is currently at large, and police teams are actively searching for him.
According to the police report, the tourist arrived in Udaipur from Delhi on June 22 and was staying at a hotel in the Ambamata area. On Monday evening, she attended a party at The Greek Farm Cafe and Restro Cafe at Tiger Hill. There, the man reportedly approached her, inviting her outside for a smoke and promising to show her some beautiful views.
Despite her repeated requests to be taken back to her hotel, he allegedly insisted on taking her to his apartment instead. Once inside, he allegedly made unwanted advances, and when she resisted, he forcibly raped her.
