Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A two-day workshop on cyber security commenced on Friday, at the School of Computer Science & IT, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV).
The initiative aims to spread awareness about digital threats, prepare students for technical challenges and introduce career opportunities in cyber security.
The workshop was inaugurated in the esteemed presence of DAVV vice chancellor Dr Rakesh Singhai, who emphasised the growing importance of cyber safety in today’s tech-driven world.
He urged students to strengthen their digital skills and remain cautious in online spaces. On the occasion, Dr Singhai also released the department’s first edition of its annual e-newsletter, featuring highlights of its achievements, innovations and activities.
Dr Ugrasen Suman, head of department, welcomed participants and underlined the relevance of cyber security education.
The keynote speaker, chief information security officer at cyber mindsets, Ravi Sultanekar, delivered an insightful session covering phishing, SQL/HTML injection, OTP bombing, secure websites and bypass techniques.
He also explored career tracks like offensive and defensive security and GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance).
Organised by Hitesh Ninama and Pankaj Jagtap, the event witnessed enthusiastic student engagement and expert interaction. Faculty members including Dr Preeti Saxena and Dr Ajay Tiwari were present. Students found the workshop highly informative and enriching.
