At TwitchCon Europe, Twitch announced some exciting updates. The platform is making changes to improve how we watch and stream content. These updates are focused on video quality, new viewing formats, and better controls during live streams.

Twitch will soon let creators stream in vertical mode. This means you can watch streams more comfortably on your phone in portrait mode. This update is great for mobile users who prefer scrolling and watching with one hand.

Later this year, Twitch will even allow dual-format streaming. So, creators will not have to choose between horizontal and vertical. They can offer both at the same time. This feature will start testing with a few channels this summer and will expand slowly.

Twitch is also launching 2K (1440p) streaming for all partners and affiliates. This means streams will look sharper, clearer, and more detailed than the usual 1080p. This is helpful for gaming, drawing, chatting, or any type of content. Before this, 2K streaming was only in a limited beta. Now, it is rolling out to more creators. If you love high-quality streams, this will make your viewing experience even better.

The platform is also testing a rewind feature. So, you can go back and rewatch parts of a live stream. It is like a DVR for Twitch. This feature will be tested with a small group of viewers starting this summer.

Twitch CEO Dan Clancy had already shared hints about these changes in a letter earlier this year. And now, we are starting to see those plans in action.

The platform is clearly working to make livestreaming better for both creators and viewers. Whether you are watching on your phone, creating content, or just exploring streams, these updates will bring more comfort and quality.
