Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Managing director of Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL), S Krishna Chaitanya conducted a trolley trial on the priority corridor on Friday. The inspection is a crucial milestone in preparation for commencing operations beyond the SC-03 section. The trolley trial began at Super Corridor 2 in the morning and concluded at Malviya Nagar Square (Radisson Square).
The route included key stations such as Malviya Nagar Chauraha, Vijay Nagar Chauraha, Meghdoot Garden, Bapat Chauraha, Heera Nagar, Chandragupta Chauraha, ISBT, MR 10 Road, Bhawarsala Chauraha, Super Corridor 1, and Super Corridor 2.
During the inspection, Chaitanya thoroughly reviewed civil structures, safety systems, entry-exit points, lifts, escalators and system rooms at each station. He also assessed the construction progress from Malviya Nagar Chauraha to SC-02.
As part of multi-modal integration, the inspection included the foot over bridge (FoB) and entry/exit points connecting ISBT Metro Station with the adjoining bus stand, ensuring seamless connectivity for commuters.
Following the inspection, a review meeting was held at the Metro office in Gandhinagar Depot. Chaitanya directed all contractors and project teams to complete the remaining work on the priority corridor within the stipulated time frame.
Senior officials, including Ajay Gupta, director (projects), Arun Kumar Srivastava, director (systems), general managers of various departments, representatives of the general consultant and contractors involved in the construction were present during the inspection and review meeting. Chaitanya emphasized that timely completion of the project was essential for delivering world-class Metro services to the city.
