Solo developer Nullpointer Games has announced the release date of its upcoming game, The Horror at Highrook. The game will launch for PC via Steam on May 1. The announcement was made during the Lovecraftian Days showcase, where a new trailer was also released.
The Horror at Highrook is a card-based role-playing game with a dark and mysterious story. The game takes you to Highrook Manor, where a noble family named the Ackerons has gone missing. People say they were involved in strange rituals and made dangerous pacts with dark forces.
You will control a team of four investigators—Vitali the Scholar, Astor the Mecanist, Atticus the Hireling, and Caligar the Plague Doctor. Each character has different skills. As you explore the manor, you will meet strange creatures and collect items to craft tools, potions, and spells.
The game uses card mechanics inspired by tabletop games. It also features detailed artwork and a deep gothic-horror story. As you move forward, the story will unfold and reveal the secrets hidden inside the manor.
Key Features:
- Explore a dark world: The game is inspired by classic horror writers like H.P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe.
- Craft powerful items: Use characters, items, and places to create tools and rituals.
