National carrier Air India also released a statement stating that runway upgradation work at the Delhi airport is expected to continue till July 2025.
New Delhi: Important update for the passengers travelling from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI airport) terminal 2. The airport authority has released a statement where it has informed that all flights from Delhi Airport’s Terminal 2 will shift to Terminal 1 due to maintenance. Owing to the maintenance and upgradation work at IGI airport Terminal 2, the airlines have begun issuing travel advisories to inform passengers of changes in flight operations. It is important to note that Terminal 2 will be shut next week for maintenance and will also be undergoing essential runway upgrades.
“Effective 15th April 2025 (0001 hrs), all flights currently operating from Terminal 2 will shift to Terminal 1 until further notice. This change is due to planned maintenance work at Terminal 2, which will remain non-operational during this period. IndiGo issues travel advisory
On Thursday, Indigo said that all flights previously scheduled from Terminal 2 (T2) will now depart from Terminal 1 (T1), starting April 15, 2025, until further notice. In its advisory, IndiGo has urged passengers to check their terminal and flight status on the official website before heading to the airport, citing possible schedule changes.
“In view of a planned maintenance activity, flights previously scheduled from Delhi Terminal 2 have now been reassigned to Terminal 1 starting April 15, 2025. We kindly request you to check the terminal details and your flight status on our website before heading to the airport, as there may be changes to flight schedules as well. Rest assured, we are working diligently to ensure a seamless transition and a smooth travel experience for you. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation,” IndiGo said in a post on X.
Air India issues travel advisory

This initiative, as per DIAL, is expected to continue till July 2025. While we will make every effort to minimise inconvenience, there could be occasions when your flight schedules get affected. Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) is expected to handle over 24 million passengers annually within the next 1–2 years, up from the current 22 million, which includes 5.5 million connecting passengers, according to DIAL CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar.
