Indian Railways Hikes Fares
The Indian Railways revised the fare structure across its network. Under the revised fares, those who are travelling up to 500 km (non-AC coaches) have to pay Rs 10 extra. The fare has been increased by 2 paise per km for non-AC coaches in Mail and Express. The fares of AC class fares have also been increased by 2 paise per km.
Notably, the fare hike doesn’t apply to Monthly Season Tickets (MSTs) and local services. Also, there is no hike in fare for journeys up to 215 km in the ordinary class.
