Hoppers CC Thalassery clinched a 12-run victory over Sussex Calicut in the Theruvath Memoirs All India T20 Cricket Tournament in Kerala on Wednesday. Thalassery successfully defended a total of 155/10 in 17.3 overs as Sussex was bowled out for 143 in 19.2 overs.
Rajeesh A P turned the game in Hoppers’ favour as he claimed four wickets for just 17 runs in three overs. While Akhil Ramachandran played a pivotal role with the bat, blasting 72 runs off 34 balls, and also chipped in with one wicket. Contributions from Jishnu P with two wickets for 21 runs, and Ashraf K’s 25-run knock for Sussex Calicut added to the drama, but couldn’t stop Hoppers CC from sealing the win.
In another match, Loongs CA Thrissur clinched a thrilling three-wicket victory over Ithal WCC Thrissur in a nail-biting contest, chasing down 145 with an over to spare at 147/7 in 19 overs. The standout performer and Player of the Match was Shine John Jacob, who delivered an all-round masterclass, claiming four wickets in four overs while conceding just 25 runs, and later contributing a vital 28 runs off 20 balls.
He was well supported by Diljith Krishna, who anchored the chase with a steady 53 off 44 balls (4 fours, 2 sixes), and Anand Sagar, who added a late flourish with a blistering 29 off just 13 balls at a strike rate of 223, sealing a memorable win for Loongs CA.
