Speeding Mercedes Car With Chandigarh Registration Number Crushes 4 People To Death In Dehradun, Driver Flees (Screengrab) | X/IANS/PTI

Dehradun: At least four people were killed and two others were injured after a speeding Mercedes cars hit them in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun on Wednesday. The incident took place near Sai Baba Temple on Rajpur Road. The condition of the injured people is reported to be critical.

The silver-coloured car had a Chandigarh registration number, the police said as reported by The Times of India. The driver fled from the spot after the accident. The police have launched amnhunt operation to nab the accused driver.

According to reports, the accident took place when the car, coming from Mussoorie towards Dehradun, ran over four labourers and hit a scooter rider. As per eyewitnesses, he car was moving at a very high speed. The driver reportedly lost control and hit the pedestrians.

“Two victims have been identified as Mansha Ram (30) and Ranjit (35), both labourers from Ayodhya, while the identities of the others are still being verified,” a senior police official told TOI.

The incident took place around 8 PM on Old Mussoorie Road. “A speeding vehicle, suspected to be a Mercedes, hit several people, resulting in four fatalities. The victims were laborers, and a nearby scooty was also struck, injuring two people in their legs.” Dehradun SSP Ajay Singh told ANI. He further added that 11-12 vehicles linked to the case have been identified. A detailed investigation has been launched.

Earlier on Monday, March 10, a lost his life after a speeding Porsche Cayenne car worth around Rs two crore allegedly rammed into two scooters. Two women were also reportedly injured in the crash. The incident took place near the Sector 4 petrol pump.
