Special POCSO Court Sentences Five To 20 Years For Kidnapping & Raping 16-Year-Old Differently-Abled Girl | Representative Photo
Mumbai: A special POCSO court sentenced five accused to 20 years’ imprisonment for kidnapping a 16-year-old differently abled and raping her for four days in October 2016. Besides, even prior to the kidnapping, the girl was sexually assaulted by the accused multiple times and was found pregnant at the time the case was lodged.
About The Incident
The incident took place on October 21, 2016. The victim had gone to recharge her mobile phone with her maternal aunt. However, from there, she did not return. Hence, her mother lodged a missing complaint for her with the Dindoshi police station on October 23, 2016. The girl was later found at Marve beach by her mother after four days on October 25, 2016.
The girl was found to be 11 weeks pregnant after she was medically examined. The girl, after being asked, revealed that after she left the house at about 7:30 pm, the accused, namely Rahul Gechand, Naveen Sarsar, his friends Boby Gussar, Sanni alias Sunny Bagadi, and Vijay Gussar, took her to Marve beach in an autorickshaw on October 21, 2016. They made her sit in the autorickshaw on the pretext of getting her Chinese Bhel.
Thereafter, she claimed that she was subjected to forcible sexual assault. They threatened her to stay there and told her that they would return sometime. The next day, Rahul, Nitin, and Naveen returned there and sexually assaulted her. They repeatedly subjected her to sexual assault for four days in a row.
On October 25, 2016, when the girl was wandering around on Marve beach, she was found by her mother. The mother brought her back home. Later, as the victim was not feeling well, they found out that she was subjected to sexual assault multiple times and was pregnant. The family later approached the police on October 28, 2016.
Thus, a case of kidnapping and gang-rape was registered. The girl was also found to be 11 weeks pregnant. Prior to taking her to Marve road, the girl claimed she was acquainted with Rahul, who is a rickshaw driver. She claimed that Rahul would often take her to the garden near Desai Hospital and sexually assault her. Thereafter, Rahul took the victim to his house when no one was around Rahul, Navin, and Nitin sexually assaulted her one after the other.
