Ganguly’s Range Rover was moving at a normal speed when a lorry suddenly tried to cut into his convoy, causing the vehicles to lose control.
Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly’s car was involved in a minor road accident on Thursday near Dantanpur on the Durgapur Expressway while he was on his way to Bardhaman. The accident caused slight damage to his car but fortunately, no one was injured. According to reports, Sourav was traveling to Bardhaman to attend an event when the accident occurred. Ganguly’s Range Rover was moving at a normal speed when a lorry suddenly tried to cut into his convoy, causing the vehicles to lose control. In an attempt to stabilize the situation, his driver applied the brakes immediately, but this led to the vehicles in the convoy colliding with each other. The car right behind Sourav’s vehicle bumped into his Range Rover.
Fortunately, since the vehicles were not moving at high speed, no injuries were reported. However, two cars in the convoy sustained minor damage. Following the accident, Sourav had to stop on the expressway for about 10 minutes before resuming his journey once the situation was under control.
Upon reaching Bardhaman, Ganguly attended a program at Bardhaman University, followed by his participation in another event organized by the Bardhaman Sports Association.
“I am overwhelmed. It feels great to be in Burdwan. I am even more happy that you invited me. BDS (Burdwan Sports Association) was asking me to come for a long time. It feels great to be here today. CAB has been working with the Burdwan sports organization for 50 years. Many players have emerged from the district. We will have to recruit players from the district in the same way in the future as well.” Ganguly said in a event as quoted by Hindustan.
