The Congress leader stressed that such violent actions undermine efforts for global peace.
New Delhi: Sonia Gandhi on Iran Attacks: Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) President Sonia Gandhi has strongly reacted to the US attacks in Iran. She said that the Indian National Congress strongly condemns this bombing and planned killings on Iranian soil. Sonia Gandhi warned that this attack could further incite war in the region, which will have serious regional and global consequences.
Comparing this military action with the inhumane actions taken by Israel in Gaza recently, she said that just as innocent civilians were targeted there, this attack in Iran is also endangering the lives of common people and regional stability. The Congress leader stressed that such violent actions are not only against humanity but also undermine efforts for global peace.
Sonia Gandhi’s article
Earlier, Sonia Gandhi had written an article in the English newspaper ‘The Hindu’ condemning the attacks on Iran. In her article, she had raised serious questions on the policies of America and Israel. She wrote that when Israel itself is a nuclear power, then what is the moral basis on which Iran is being continuously targeted, even though it does not have any nuclear weapons. She called it a clear “double standard” of Israel. Sonia Gandhi said that such an action not only endangers regional peace, but also seriously hurts international trust and balance.
India’s silence dangerous, Trump’s U-turn disappointing
Sonia Gandhi clearly wrote in her article that Iran has been a trusted and historical friend of India for years and at such a time, this silence of India is a reason for “both concern and pain”. She said that India should speak in a responsible, clear and courageous voice on the devastation that happened in Gaza and what is happening in Iran now.
She also made a serious comment on the policies of US President Donald Trump, writing that Trump himself used to criticize America’s “never-ending wars” and “military-industrial lobby”, but now he himself is going on the same path. She also reminded that Trump himself has said many times that the attack on Iraq was done on the basis of “false allegations” in which weapons of mass destruction were said to be there, which were never found.
