Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Hearing the nursing college scam case, the principal seat of the Madhya Pradesh High Court in Jabalpur has ordered the MP Nursing Council to present before it on March 18 the original files related to the recognition and affiliation of all those nursing colleges whose names came up in the CBI probe. The high court said the files will help identify the officials involved so that instructions can be given for action against them. Justice Sanjay Dwivedi and Justice Achal Kumar Paliwal of the HC Special bench are hearing the PIL filed by Law Students’ Association President Vishal Baghel.

In compliance with a previous order of the court, the government presented the list of names of all the officials responsible for granting recognition to nursing colleges in a sealed envelope. Meanwhile, an application was moved by the petitioner, requesting the court that the students enrolled at the nursing colleges whose names came up in the probe be shifted to other institutions as their future was at stake and they were losing time. The court has directed the government to present its side in the next hearing.

CCTV footage to be scanned

Since the Cyber Police, Bhopal, expressed its inability to recover the missing footage from the DVR of the CCTV installed in the Nursing Council office, the court has directed that the footage from cameras around the office be investigated and a report submitted.

HC orders for new marksheets

With petitions related to nursing fraud still pending, students who were given provisional marksheets in compliance with an earlier court order have been facing issues if going to other states. The HC has ordered that new marksheets be issued to all the students with ‘provisional’ word dropped.
