New Delhi: Dr. Lobsang Sangay, former Prime Minister of the Tibetan government-in-exile, has made several major revelations about China. He stated that the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi is attempting to influence Indian leaders and is even conspiring to change the government.
In his revelations about China, the former Tibetan Prime Minister claimed that China has always employed a strategy of co-opting influential people. In an interview with NDTV, he claimed that China is buying politicians, intellectuals, businessmen, journalists, and nowadays even YouTubers. He warned that India should be wary of Beijing’s political designs.
Mentions Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, and Pakistan
Dr. Sange also spoke about the current instability in Nepal. He said that China is doing the same in India’s neighbourhood. In Nepal, one party is openly pro-China, while another is pro-India. In Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the Maldives, China has also taken influential people with it. In Pakistan, all major parties support China. He also cited examples of European ministers who first praised China and later got high-paying jobs in Chinese companies.
Dr. Sange advised all Indian leaders to be vigilant. He said that China doesn’t care who it buys from, as long as it serves its purpose.
China wants to dominate South Asia
Dr. Sange said that China wants to encircle India to establish its dominance in South Asia. Therefore, it is helping and developing close ties with the Maldives, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. He said that this is why it also blocks UN resolutions against terrorists who attack India.
In the interview, he also discussed the trade deficit between India and China. He said that India buys $113 billion worth of goods from China but sells only $14 billion worth of goods to China. This means that India will have fewer factories, less production, and fewer jobs.
