Ramadan 2025 start dates in different countries
Saudi Arabia:
In Saudi Arabia, the Supreme Court has urged people to look for the crescent moon on the evening of Friday, February 28, 2025 (29 Sha’ban 1446 AH). If the moon is spotted, Ramadan will begin on Saturday, March 1, 2025. If not, fasting will start on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
United Arab Emirates (UAE):
The UAE will also observe the moon on February 28, 2025. According to the International Astronomical Centre in Abu Dhabi, the crescent is expected to be visible through telescopes in parts of West Asia, Africa, and southern Europe. If sighted, Ramadan will start on March 1; otherwise, it will begin on March 2.
India:
In India, the moon sighting is expected on the evening of Saturday, March 1, 2025. If the crescent appears, Ramadan will start on Sunday, March 2. The final decision will be made by local moon-sighting committees and Islamic scholars.
Pakistan:
Pakistan follows the same lunar observation process. The crescent moon is expected to be visible on March 1, 2025. If seen, Ramadan will begin on March 2. The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will officially announce the start date based on moon sighting reports.
