If you’re someone who likes to customize the on-screen look of their phone, and you currently own a Samsung Galaxy handset, there’s a new update you’ll want to check out.
Samsung has pushed an upgrade to the Theme Park module in the Good Lock app, which allows Galaxy phone owners to tinker with the themes, colors and overall aesthetic of the One UI 8 operating system.
Most Galaxy owners should be able check out the new features available in this update, but some are unique to the One UI 8.5 update which is slowly rolling out to supported devices.
Multiple changes to dive into
SamMobile notes the update – version 1.1.01.38 – brings with it a number of changes, the first of which is a bookmark feature allowing you to tag your favorite themes for easy switching between the themes you love the most. Tapping the heart icon in the top corner of the screen when viewing a theme will add it to your bookmarks.
Icon editing has also become easier, with Samsung improving the UI around this tool by splitting it into three distinct sections; Shape, Effects, and Icon.
And linked to this, there’s a new icon effect called Emboss (added depth), and icon option called Monochrome (for a clean, minimalist finish), both of which can alter the appearance of your app icons. Plus, the Quick Panel icon preview has also been updated, according to Samsung’s changelog.
And finally, the feature available only to those with Samsung Galaxy phones running One UI 8.5, you can now customize the color of the home screen notification badges, ensuring they are in keeping with the rest of your theme.
Samsung’s continued focus on improving customization on its phones is setting it apart from stock Android on Pixel devices, and while Apple introduced a host of customization features with iOS 26, it still lags behind Samsung.
For those with a Galaxy phone, head over to the Galaxy Store to see if the Good Lock app update is available for you. If it is, hit download and you’ll be trying out these new features in no time.
