Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy A26 5G in India, expanding its mid-range smartphone lineup. The device brings a Super AMOLED display, 5G connectivity, and long-term software support
Samsung Galaxy A26 5G features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Infinity-U Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. The display also has 1,000 nits peak brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection to protect it from scratches.
The phone packs an Octa Core Exynos 1380 processor with Mali-G68 MP5 GPU. Exynos 1380 is a mid-range processor built on a 5nm process. It features an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A78 cores at 2.4 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz. The chipset is capable for performing well in everyday tasks and can also handle casual gaming well. It has 8GB RAM and is offered in 128GB or 256GB internal storage. The phone also has microSD card slot to expand storage up to 2TB.
Galaxy A26 5G runs One UI 7.0 based on Android 15. Samsung also promises up to 6 OS versions and 6 years of security updates. This ensures Samsung promises six years of OS and security updates, ensuring long-term software reliability. The device also has several AI features such as Circle to Search, object eraser, and more.
It has a triple camera on the back. There is a 50 megapixels primary camera with OIS, 8 megapixels ultra-wide angle camera, and 2 megapixels macro camera. For selfies, the phone has 13 megapixels camera. Without having access to the phone, I cannot claim anything about the camera performance.
The fingerprint sensor is on the side button. Connectivity options are 5G SA / NSA, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C, and NFC. The phone packs a 5000mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging.
The Samsung Galaxy A26 5G measures 164x 77.5 x 7.7mm and weighs 200g. It is also IP67 dust—and water-resistant.

At this price, the phone will compete against Redmi Note 14 Pro, Nothing Phone 3a, realme P3 Pro, vivo T3 Pro, and Infinix Zero 30 5G. If we compare Samsung Galaxy A26 5G against competitors, the phone falls short. We get phones with better performance, better camera, and even faster charging. Most phones in this segment come with Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 and Dimensity 7300 that outperform the Exynos 1380 in CPU performance. The only good thing in Samsung Galaxy A26 5G is the long-term software update.
