Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was injured after an unidentified intruder broke into his Bandra (West) residence late at night and attacked him with a knife. As per the initial information, the intruder entered the actor’s home while his house staff, noticing the trespasser, raised an alarm. Saif woke up during the commotion and was injured as the thief, panicking at the prospect of being caught, turned violent. The incident reportedly occurred during the early hours of the morning.

Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital for immediate medical attention. Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, confirmed that Saif Ali Khan was brought in at around 3:30 AM. “He sustained six stab wounds, two of which are deep. One of the wounds is perilously close to his spine,” Dr. Uttamani said.

A team of specialists, including neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Leena Jain, and anesthesiologist Dr. Nisha Gandhi, is currently treating the actor. “He is undergoing surgery, and his condition is being closely monitored,” added Dr. Uttamani.

Statement from Saif’s team

A statement was also released from Saif Ali Khan’s team where they requested the “media and fans to be patient”. “There was an attempted burglary at Mr Saif Ali Khans residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter. We will keep you updated on the situation,” a statement by Saif Ali Khan’s team read.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and authorities are investigating the matter. Fans and well-wishers across the country are expressing their concerns and praying for his speedy recovery.
