DRDO has presented 28 weapon systems to the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. Under emergency purchase, the army can buy weapons worth up to Rs 300 crore.

After the success of indigenous weapons in the recent conflict between India Pakistan, the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has recently offered to give 28 weapon systems to the three armies. According to reports, DRDO has submitted a list of these weapons to the Defense Ministry. Following which, the central government has given the armies the right to buy new weapons in an emergency situation.
Proposal to purchase 28 new weapons
DRDO’s list includes rockets, air-to-air missiles, air-to-ground missiles, laser-targeted bombs, torpedoes. Apart from these, air defense missiles and anti-tank missiles, helicopter-launched and ground-launched Nag missiles, Rudram anti-radiation missiles, naval anti-ship missiles and grenades are also in this list.
DRDO sent the complete list
According to defense sources, DRDO has given a list of modern weapon systems along with the names of the production agencies that make these weapons. Also, it has been told how many weapons the armies can buy in the next six months to one year. The armies can buy weapons from these agencies. For example, Pinaka rockets can be purchased from Solar Defense and Aerospace Limited. At the same time, Bharat Dynamics Limited is the source of many weapons included in the list.
These weapons will make the army powerful
The army has also been given man-portable anti-tank guided missiles, very short-range air defense systems, smart anti-airfield weapons, long-range glide bombs and advanced light-weight torpedoes. Along with this, ammunition has also been given for 155 mm artillery guns. The forces have been given the option to order from a list of 28 different weapons. Of these, 14 are for the Indian Army, 8 for the Indian Navy and 6 for the Indian Air Force.
DRDO the main developer of weapons
DRDO has been the main developer of weapons in the Indian defense system. Its BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, MRSAM air-edge fence missile system and Akash air-edge fence system have performed very well in defeating Pakistani attacks during Operation Sindoor. The list given by DRDO also tells which weapon will be available from where. This will make it easier for the armies to buy weapons.
