The Reliance Retail team, in collaboration with Reliance Foundation and volunteers, is sending curated dry ration kits containing 21 essential items and hygiene kits for nutrition and hygiene to the most affected communities identified through Panchayats.
In the wake of the devastating floods in Punjab , Reliance has launched a comprehensive humanitarian response in the state. Working shoulder to shoulder with the state administration, panchayats and local stakeholders, Reliance teams are on the ground providing immediate relief, especially in the worst-affected villages of Amritsar and Sultanpur Lodhi.
Anant Ambani sent a message for Punjab
Anant Ambani, Director, Reliance Industries Limited, said, “We stand with the people of Punjab in this hour of grief. Families have lost their homes, livelihoods and a sense of security. The entire Reliance family stands with them and is providing food, water, shelter kits and care for both people and animals. This plan reflects our deep belief that we care. Reliance made these 10 announcements for Punjab
Nutrition Support
- Dry ration kits with essential food supplies for 10,000 worst-affected families for vital nutrition.
- Voucher-based assistance of ₹5,000 for 1,000 most vulnerable families, especially those headed by single women and the elderly.
- Dry rations for community kitchens to provide immediate nutrition to communities.
- Installation of portable water filters in waterlogged areas to ensure safe drinking water.
Shelter Assistance
- Emergency shelter kits including tarpaulins, groundsheets, mosquito nets, ropes and bedding for the protection of displaced families.
- Public Health Risk Management (PHRM)
Health awareness sessions and disinfection of water sources to prevent outbreak of diseases following floods.
Distribution of hygiene kits with hygiene essentials to each affected family.
Livestock Assistance
- Veterinary surveys reveal that livestock are in serious distress due to waterlogging and their immediate care is being given priority.
- Reliance Foundation and Vantara, in collaboration with the Animal Husbandry Department, are setting up livestock camps to provide medicines, vaccines and care. 3,000 silage bundles are being distributed for about 5,000 cattle.
- Equipped with modern rescue equipment and years of expertise, Vantara’s expert team of over 50 members is supporting efforts to treat rescued animals, ensure respectful scientific cremation of dead animals, and prevent potential disease outbreaks in coordination with local authorities.
Jio services restored in Punjab
Reliance teams are working round the clock in collaboration with the district administration, animal husbandry department and local panchayats to provide immediate life-saving assistance as well as plan medium-term rehabilitation work. The Jio team in Punjab worked closely with NDRF teams to restore network in flood-affected areas, ensuring 100% connectivity across the state.
