The Azad Maidan Police have registered a case against a 30-year-old biker for reckless driving, which led to the death of a pedestrian near Killa Court.
According to the complaint filed by Police Constable Yogesh Chorge (45), attached to the Azad Maidan Police Station, the incident occurred on February 8, 2025, at around 8:30 PM near the exit gate of Killa Court on Mahanagar Palika Road.
The accused, identified as Dhaval Ganesh Vaidya (30), was riding a black motorcycle (MH 01 EL 8151) belonging to Trump Company at a high speed and in a negligent manner. He allegedly struck a pedestrian, Rashid Sultan Shaikh (34), causing severe injuries that resulted in his death.
Following the incident, the Azad Maidan Police registered a case under Section 106(1), 281 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and Section 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Further investigations are underway, said DCP (Zone 1) Dr. Pravin Mundhe.
