EA Mobile has announced that Real Racing 3 will be discontinued after a long run of twelve years. The mobile racing game was launched in 2013 and will be shut down in phases, with a complete server closure planned for early 2026. This marks the end of one of the most successful and long-running racing games on mobile platforms.
The company has shared a clear timeline to help players prepare for the game’s closure.
Shutdown timeline for Real Racing 3
December 18, 2025: The game will be removed from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for new users. On the same day, all in-app purchases will be disabled. It means players will no longer be able to spend real money.
Between December 2025 and March 2026: Existing players can continue playing the game. Users who have downloaded Real Racing 3 in the past can re-download it from their app store account history. Players can also use their remaining in-game currency during this period.
March 19, 2026: EA will permanently shut down all Real Racing 3 servers. After this date, the game will no longer be playable, and all unused in-game currency will expire.
To mark the end of the game’s long journey, EA is releasing a final update for all players. This update includes a farewell reward pack with 1,000 Gold, the Audi S1 e-tron quattro, and the 2023 Rimac Nevera. Players who already own these cars will receive extra Gold instead.
Real Racing 3 launched in 2013 and became one of the most realistic racing games on mobile. Its licensed cars, real-world tracks, and live service model helped it stay relevant for over a decade. The shutdown highlights how even long-running mobile games eventually reach the end of their lifecycle as platforms and player expectations evolve.
