Deepak Chahar made a memorable debut for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Chahar’s impressive batting display helped MI post a competitive score of 155, while his hilarious banter with former teammate Ravindra Jadeja left the crowd in stitches.

After the top and middle order of MI failed to fire, Chahar took charge and played a brilliant innings. He smashed 28 runs off just 15 balls, with 2 fours and 2 sixes, to help MI post a respectable total of 155/9. Chahar’s unbeaten knock was a testament to his skills as a lower-order batsman.

The highlight of Chahar’s innings, however, was his hilarious banter with his ex-CSK teammate Ravindra Jadeja during the 19th over. On the third ball of the over, Chahar pulled a Khaleel Ahmed delivery towards long-on for a single.

Jadeja, who was fielding in the region, rolled the ball over in front of him, challenging Chahar to go for a double. Chahar, in a joking manner, threatened the fielder to take a second run, but ultimately decided against it.

The crowd erupted in laughter at the light-hearted exchange, which showcased the camaraderie between the two players. Jadeja and Chahar had previously played together with the CSK franchise for 7 years, before Chahar joined Mumbai Indians.
