Former Team India head coach Ravi Shastri’s response to fan request on air went viral on day five of the second Test against England at Edgbaston, Birmingham. With a fan holding a poster that read, ‘Do you want Chai?’ to Shastri, the 62-year-old, who is working as a commentator, hilariously responded by saying he would love some Masala chai.
The moment occurred within the first hour of day five during the 20th over of the innings as one of the Indian fans displayed a poster with the above-mentioned question. With the camera panning towards it, fellow commentator Kumar Sangakkara spotted it and read it out for Shastri.
In response, Shastri said:
“Oh yeah, get some Masala Chai, boy. Just get it nice, spicy.”
