Tata Group has decided to set up a trust of Rs 500 crore for kin of Ahmedabad Air India plane crash victims.

New Delhi: Following a recent Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad—the nation’s worst air disaster in a decade—the Tata Group, which holds a 74% stake in Air India through Tata Sons, will establish a Rs 500 crore trust to support the families of the victims. This trust will be known as the AI171 Trust.
