Bihar Assembly Election Result 2025: In his first reaction to crushing defeat faced by the INDIA bloc, aka the Mahagathbandhan, in Bihar, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed that the elections in the state were “not fair from the very beginning” which made it difficult for the opposition alliance to win the assembly polls in the state.

What did Rahul Gandhi say about Bihar election results?

In a post on X in Hindi, Rahul Gandhi called the Bihar Assembly Election Results “truly surprising”, and thanked the “millions of voters” for placing their trust in the Mahagathbandhan.

“I express my heartfelt gratitude to those millions of voters in Bihar who expressed their trust in the Mahagathbandhan. This result in Bihar is truly surprising. We could not achieve victory in an election that was not fair from the very beginning,” the Congress MP wrote.

NDA sweeps Bihar, INDIA bloc routed

Rahul Gandhi’s comments came as the NDA registered a landslide victory in the Bihar Assembly Election, winning more than 200 seats in the 243-member House, with the BJP emerging as the single-largest party.

In contrast, the opposition Mahagathbandhan led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress, faced a rout in the state, winning just 33 of the 243 seats it had contested, with Congress securing a dismal 6 seats out of the 61 it fought.
