Chandigarh: The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government will convene a special two-day session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha next week in which it is likely to bring a law on the cases of sacrilege.
According to official information, the session, which is likely to be convened on July 10 and July 11, though the final decision on the dates of the session will be taken in the Cabinet meeting which has been convened by chief minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday.
However, since the previous session held on May 5 last has not been prorogued, governor’s permission is not required by the government to convene this session.
According to information, the session is also likely to have discussions on drug issues and the issue pertaining to the arrest of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia for which all the political parties will be given a chance to explain their stand on the issues.
