The deadline for citizens living within the limits of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to pay their property tax for the financial year 2024-25 is Monday, March 31, which coincides with Eid, a public holiday. Therefore, the civic body has decided to keep its citizen service centres open on Saturday and Sunday, despite the weekend holidays.
The PMC aims to ensure that citizens do not face any inconvenience in making last-minute property tax payments. Additionally, taxpayers will have access to various online payment options for a seamless experience.
Citizens can make payments through a range of online payment methods, including Net Banking, UPI, Google Pay, PhonePe, Bharat QR Code and credit/debit cards. The PMC has urged property owners to clear their dues by March 31 to avoid a 2% penalty on outstanding amounts.
In the 2024-25 budget, the Tax Assessment and Collection Department was given a revenue target of ₹2,727 crore. This estimate was based on the inclusion of 34 newly merged villages and the gradual increase in tax rates. However, with the financial year drawing to a close, the collected revenue has reached only ₹2,229 crore as of March 25.
Prithviraj BP, Additional Commissioner, said, “₹2,229 crore has been collected as of March 25. Special teams have been appointed to recover dues, and their efforts are yielding positive results. However, no amnesty scheme is being planned for defaulters.”
Extended customer service centre timings:
Saturday and Sunday (March 29 and 30): 10am to 7pm
Monday (March 31): 10am to 10pm
