Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk issued an urgent appeal today for all Polish citizens currently in Iran to leave the country immediately, warning that the risk of open armed conflict in the region has become “very real” and that the window for safe evacuation could close within hours.

Speaking to reporters in Zielonka near Warsaw, Tusk stated, “Please leave Iran immediately and under no circumstances travel to that country.” He emphasised that he did not intend to cause unnecessary alarm but stressed the gravity of the situation, describing the possibility of a “hot conflict” as highly likely.

“In a matter of hours — a few, a dozen, or several dozen — evacuation may no longer be possible,” Tusk warned, urging Poles to treat the advisory seriously, as no guarantees could be provided for evacuation operations once open conflict erupts.

The Prime Minister’s statement comes against the backdrop of sharply escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly between the United States and Iran. Recent weeks have seen a significant buildup of U.S. military assets in the region, including the deployment of additional carrier strike groups, fighter aircraft, and other naval forces. Reports indicate U.S. officials are preparing for the possibility of sustained military operations against Iran if diplomatic efforts fail, amid stalled negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program, ballistic missiles, and regional activities.

Notably, the U.S. has also issued similar advisories to its citizens and has issued threats of action in response to ongoing developments, including Iran’s crackdown on domestic protests and its refusal to compromise on key issues like enrichment and missile capabilities.
