POCO has launched the POCO M8 5G smartphone in India. The new phone focuses on display quality, performance, and long-term software support
The POCO M8 5G comes with a 6.77-inch FHD+ curved AMOLED display. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and offers up to 3200 nits peak brightness. The company also highlights its slim 7.35mm body, which gives the phone a sleek look.
The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor. It is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. Storage can also be expanded using a microSD card. For software, the phone runs Android 15 with HyperOS 2 on top. POCO has promised four years of Android OS updates and six years of security patches.
It features a 50MP rear camera along with a 2-megapixel Light Fusion 400 sensor. The phone supports 4K video recording. On the front, it has a 20MP camera for selfies and video calls.
The phone also includes an in-display fingerprint sensor and an infrared sensor. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and a USB Type-C port.
The POCO M8 5G packs a 5520mAh silicon-carbon battery. It supports 45W fast charging, and a charger is included in the box.
POCO has added strong durability features to this device. The phone comes with IP65 and IP66 ratings for dust and splash resistance. It also meets MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability standards.
The smartphone is available in Carbon Black, Frost Silver, and Glacial Blue colour options. Pricing starts at Rs. 18,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The 8GB RAM with 128GB storage model costs Rs. 19,999, while the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version is priced at Rs. 21,999. With bank and launch offers, the effective starting price goes down to Rs. 15,999.
The POCO M8 5G will go on sale in India via Flipkart starting January 13. Launch offers include an instant discount of Rs. 2,000 on ICICI Bank cards or on exchange, an additional Rs. 1,000 discount for the first 12 hours of sale, and no-cost EMI options for up to six months.
