The popular cooperative horror game Phasmophobia is officially heading to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, developer Kinetic Games has announced. This marks the latest platform for the game, which has built a strong following since its initial launch.
Phasmophobia first debuted in Early Access on PC via Steam in September 2020. Since then, it has expanded to other platforms, including PlayStation 5 with VR2 support and Xbox Series in late 2024. The game has sold over 25 million copies so far, making it one of the most successful indie horror titles in recent years.
Fans have long hoped the game would come to Nintendo’s hardware, and Kinetic Games has now confirmed those plans. “We’re over the moon to reveal that Phasmophobia is coming to Nintendo Switch 2,” said Daniel Knight, CEO and game director at Kinetic Games. He added that many in the community, as well as the team itself, have wanted a Switch version for a long time. With the full 1.0 release on track for 2026, the timing feels right to bring in new players on a fresh platform.
Phasmophobia puts players in the shoes of ghost hunters who must investigate haunted locations with up to four friends online. The game blends tense atmosphere with cooperative play, tasking teams with gathering evidence, using tools, and surviving paranormal activity across a variety of eerie settings. On Switch 2, players will be able to explore all 14 maps, including the newest one added this year, Nell’s Diner.
Bringing Phasmophobia to Switch 2 could open the game to a broader audience, especially those who enjoy portable multiplayer experiences. The flexibility of Nintendo’s new system makes it a natural fit for couch co-op or on-the-go ghost hunting.
