PMC to hold essay and elocution competition on Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary | File
To commemorate the 134th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, essay and elocution competitions will be organized at the school level across all schools, higher secondary schools, and colleges, regardless of their management or medium of instruction.
These competitions will take place from March 26 to April 1, following the prescribed categories and topics. The names of the top three winners from each category must be submitted to the Education Department of the Panvel Municipal Corporation (at Loknete D.B. Patil School No.1, in front of Dandekar Hospital, Panvel) by April 2, before 12:00 PM, as per the corporation’s announcement.
The competitions will be held in three categories: two school-level groups and an open group. “Different topics have been assigned for the essay and elocution competitions in each category. The top three winners at the school level will be awarded certificates and mementos, while the top three winners at the municipal level will receive cash prizes, mementos, and certificates,” said an official.
The final round of the essay and elocution competitions will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025. The event will take place at Loknete D.B. Patil School No.1, in front of Dandekar Hospital, Panvel, starting at 9:00 AM. The competition will be conducted in three categories, with participants having the option to compete in Marathi or English. The topics for each category will remain as previously decided.
“Participants who secure first, second, and third places at the school level must submit their entries at Loknete D.B. Patil School No.1, Panvel, by April 2, before 12:00 PM. The results of the competition will be announced on April 14, 2025, at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Bhavan, Panvel, following the conclusion of a celebratory procession,” said the official.
