OnePlus will host a live keynote event in Bengaluru on December 17 to launch the new OnePlus 15R and the OnePlus Pad Go 2. Ahead of the event, the company has shared key details about the performance, display, and camera of both products. The event is also part of OnePlus’ 12th anniversary celebrations.
OnePlus 15R Specifications
The OnePlus 15R is the latest model in the company’s R Series. This phone is being promoted as a powerful device with a focus on fast performance. The phone is powered by a new “triple-chip” setup. OnePlus has confirmed that the 15R will be the first global device to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 mobile platform. This is combined with a G2 Wi-Fi chip for better connectivity and a Touch Response Chip that helps reduce input delay while gaming or scrolling.
The phone comes with a 1.5K AMOLED display. It supports a 165Hz refresh rate and offers 450 ppi pixel density. OnePlus says the display can reach up to 1800 nits of peak brightness and can go as low as 2 nits, or even 1 nit when Reduce White Point is enabled.
OnePlus 15R will use the Detailmax Engine. This is the same computational photography setup used in the standard OnePlus 15. The confirmed camera features include Ultra Clear Mode, Clear Burst, and the Clear Night Engine.
OnePlus is also offering stronger durability this time. The 15R comes with multiple IP ratings, including IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K. This means the phone is protected against dust, deep water immersion, and high-pressure water jets.
After launch, the device will be available on Amazon.in, the OnePlus India online store, and at offline retailers.
OnePlus Pad Go 2 Features
Alongside the 15R, the company will also introduce the OnePlus Pad Go 2. This tablet is aimed at users who need a large display, multitasking features, and optional 5G.
The Pad Go 2 features a 12.1-inch 2.8K display with 284 ppi pixel density. It supports Dolby Vision and can reach up to 900 nits of brightness. The display also covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color space and carries TÜV Rheinland Smart Care 4.0 certification for eye safety.

The tablet supports the new OnePlus Pad Go 2 Stylo. This stylus offers 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, making it suitable for note-taking and digital art.
A 5G variant has been confirmed. It will be available only in the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model in Shadow Black. The tablet runs Open Canvas, a multitasking-focused software that allows split-screen use and helps users stay productive.
The Pad Go 2 will be sold on Amazon.in, Flipkart, the OnePlus India store, and offline outlets.
OnePlus Marks Its 12th Anniversary
As part of its anniversary celebrations, OnePlus founder Pete Lau has shared a letter with the community. He talks about the company’s journey so far and its plans for the future.
OnePlus has also launched a browser-based game called OnePlus Run 2.0. Players can score points using the mascot Una. Top players stand a chance to win the OnePlus 15R, OnePlus Pad Go 2, and the upcoming OnePlus 15.
The brand has also revealed new “Celebrations Una” collectibles. These include Diwali-themed Kurta Pyjama and Christmas-themed Scottish tartan outfits for the mascot.
