OPPO is preparing to expand its flagship ambitions beyond China with the upcoming Oppo Find X9 Ultra, the successor to one of 2025’s most camera-focused smartphones. The company has confirmed that the new Ultra model will launch in select global markets later this year, marking the first time a Find-series Ultra device will receive an international release.
The announcement signals a major shift for OPPO’s premium smartphone strategy. Historically, its Ultra-tier devices have been reserved for the Chinese market, with global users receiving slightly toned-down variants. With the Find X9 Ultra, however, the company appears ready to compete directly with flagship camera phones from Samsung, Apple, and other premium manufacturers.
A camera-centric flagship with bigger ambitions
The upcoming device will sit at the top of the Find X9 lineup, which already includes the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, introduced in India in late 2025. While those phones deliver strong flagship performance and capable camera systems, the Ultra model is expected to push imaging capabilities much further.
Early reports suggest that the Find X9 Ultra will feature a quad-camera system, including two advanced periscope telephoto lenses designed for long-range photography. One of these lenses is tipped to use a 200-megapixel sensor, reportedly a 1/1.28-inch unit capable of capturing extremely detailed zoom shots. The second telephoto camera could be a 50-megapixel lens offering up to 10x optical zoom, allowing the phone to cover a wide range of focal lengths.
OPPO has also confirmed that the phone will include a Hasselblad-tuned camera system, continuing the brand’s collaboration with the renowned camera manufacturer to enhance color science and photographic tuning. The company has described the device as “built to be your next camera,” reinforcing the idea that the Find X9 Ultra is designed primarily as a mobile photography powerhouse.
Why this launch matters
The global rollout of the Find X9 Ultra represents an important milestone for OPPO. Bringing its highest-end device to international markets signals the company’s intention to strengthen its presence in the premium smartphone category.
The move also reflects broader changes in the industry. Chinese smartphone manufacturers have increasingly begun launching their top-tier flagships globally rather than keeping them exclusive to domestic markets. By expanding the availability of the Find X9 Ultra, OPPO aims to challenge established players in the high-end smartphone segment.
What it means for buyers
For smartphone buyers, the Find X9 Ultra’s global debut means greater choice at the top end of the market. Flagship devices today are judged not only by processing power but also by camera versatility and battery life.
Reports indicate the Find X9 Ultra could include a battery exceeding 7,000mAh, a significant upgrade over the Find X8 Ultra’s 6,100mAh capacity. If accurate, this could give the device one of the largest batteries in any premium smartphone, potentially offering longer endurance than many competing flagships.
Combined with advanced zoom cameras and high-resolution sensors, the phone may appeal particularly to photography enthusiasts, travelers, and content creators who rely heavily on smartphone cameras.
What comes next
While OPPO has confirmed the phone’s global launch later this year, the company has not yet revealed an exact release date or full specifications. Details such as the chipset, pricing, design options, and market availability will likely be announced closer to launch.
As leaks and official announcements continue to emerge, the Find X9 Ultra is shaping up to be one of the most interesting camera-focused smartphones of the year. If the rumored features materialize, it could quickly become one of the strongest contenders in the flagship smartphone space.
