Teachers’ Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at Notre Dame Academy, Salakati at the EWA Campus, and Ankur Tiny Tots,NTPC Bongaigaon with tributes paid to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the eminent philosopher, teacher, and former President of India, whose birth anniversary is observed nationwide as Teachers’ Day.
At the EWA Campus, Principal of Notre Dame Academy, Sister Manju, along with the teachers, led the celebrations. Students showcased cultural performances expressing their gratitude and admiration towards their mentors. Teachers were felicitated with tokens of appreciation by Anurag Gupta, General Manager (O&M), NTPC Bongaigaon, and Smt. Kasturi Maitra, President, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club,NTPC Bongaigaon.
Addressing the gathering, Gupta emphasized the crucial role teachers play in shaping a value-based society. Earlier, Amit K. Asthana, Head of HR, NTPC Bongaigaon, spoke about inspirational teachers across India who have brought transformative change through education.
At the Ankur Tiny Tots campus, floral tributes were offered to Dr. Radhakrishnan by Smt. Kasturi Maitra and members of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club. Teachers at Ankur Tiny Tots were also felicitated with tokens of appreciation by the dignitaries. Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Maitra praised the dedication of the teachers and reiterated their commitment to nurturing young children into responsible citizens of society.
To mark the occasion, fun games were organised for the teachers at Ankur Tiny Tots, while the students conducted a quiz for the teachers, making the celebrations lively and engaging.
The programme was also attended by Sushil Kumar, AGM (CCD), Manish Kumar, Sr. Manager (C&I) and parent’s representative, who joined in appreciating the efforts of the teachers. Children of both schools presented colourful cultural programmes, thanking their teachers for their guidance and contributions, making the day memorable for all.
