School students in Noida, up to Class 8, will have holidays until January 17. This comes after the region experienced increasing cold wave conditions, along with dense fog. Earlier, the authorities had announced that the schools would remain closed until January 15, i.e., Thursday, due to cold wave conditions. Now that the cold weather has still not improved much, the authorities have decided to extend the holidays for two more dates. It implies that schools for students from nursery to Class 8 will remain closed on January 16 and 17.

Extension of school holidays in Noida

The school holidays in Noida have been extended for two more dates, i.e., January 16 and January 17. The reason for the extension is cold wave and dense fog conditions in the region. The students from nursery to Class 8 will observe these holidays.

Now, the schools will reopen on January 19, i.e., Monday, for the students because January 18 is a Sunday. All schools in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district will be closed for the given dates as announced in the official notice.

Earlier extension of holidays

Earlier, the education department of Gautam Buddh Nagar district had announced the extension of holidays until January 15, i.e., Thursday. The previous order was also based on the cold wave conditions to ensure that school students remain safe.

Weather forecast in Noida

The official data of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) states that the minimum temperature in Gautam Buddh Nagar on January 16 is 6 degrees Celsius, and the maximum temperature is 21 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, the minimum temperature as per IMD’s data on January 17 is likely to be 6 degrees Celsius, and the maximum is 21 degrees Celsius, which is the same as the previous day’s.

The weather forecast for Noida on January 16 on IMD’s website shows ‘dense fog,’ and for January 17 shows ‘dense to very dense fog.’

Now, the school students will have holidays until January 17, i.e., Saturday. The holiday extension will be observed in all the schools of the district. From ICSE to CBSE-affiliated schools, from UP education boards to other schools, all will remain closed. The decision has been taken by the authorities for the safety and health of the school students from nursery to Class 8. This means that the schools in Noida will reopen on January 19, i.e., Monday.
