NMMC conducts health awareness camps at 17 Shiv temples across Navi Mumbai on Shravan Monday | X – @NMMConline
Navi Mumbai: On the occasion of the holy Shravan Monday, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) organized health awareness camps in 17 Shiv temples across the city to educate citizens about malaria, dengue, and other communicable diseases.
Shravan month is known for its religious observances and festivals, especially the large gatherings at Shiva temples on Mondays. Recognizing this as an opportunity to reach a wider audience, the health department, under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde, held these camps to promote preventive healthcare practices.
Over 8,400 Citizens Reached, 185 Blood Samples Collected
A total of 8,419 citizens visited the health booths, where they received information and witnessed demonstrations on mosquito-borne diseases and preventive measures. Additionally, 185 blood samples were collected for further medical testing.
Municipal Commissioner Urges Preventive Action at Household Level
The civic body has appealed to residents to actively support ongoing mosquito prevention efforts and awareness campaigns. Commissioner Dr. Shinde said, “Citizens should take necessary steps to eliminate potential mosquito breeding spots in and around their homes to help curb the spread of dengue and malaria in Navi Mumbai.”
